5 Things You Need To Do In Your Crochet Business Everyday

Your crochet business is a living breathing entity. Unless you feed it everyday, it will not thrive. Here are the 5 things that you need to do in your crochet business everyday to see those profits soar and some tips on how to make these things easier and even how to automate them!

This post contains affiliate links that I may receive a commission from if you choose to make a purchase through them.

I will point out that these 5 things are a minimum. If you are short on time then do this list first then with what time you have left, go and do what ever else you have time for on your to do list (check point 2). Getting your crochet business to thrive takes work and you can’t make that happen by only completing this list each day – you need to do far more than that. This list just comprises the bare essentials to help you time manage and keep things on track for those time poor days.

1. Reply To Comments And Messages

This is number 1 on my list, as it’s an easy way to start the day, and it makes sure that any customer queries that have come in overnight don’t wait too long to be answered. I will also repeat this task at the end of the day so that those questions and comments are not rattling around my head once I shut my computer down and I can truly shut off for the evening.

Just remember, you are not an international corporation. No one can expect you to be answering messages 24/7. So don’t even try. You can set auto replies in Messenger that include your office hours – use them and relax and leave any messages that come in outside your working hours until the next working day.

When it comes to comments on your social media, it pays to reply to them. Social media wants you to be social – that’s the whole point of the platforms. So if you are being social, the platform will reward you by showing your post to more people. The more you interact with people on your posts within the first 24 hours, the more you will benefit. So get chatting in those comments.

2. Check Your To Do List

Your to do list should not be a never ending list of EVERYTHING you could possibly get done. It is supposed to be a list of top priorities. So which of your priority tasks are you going to do first? Make sure you don’t get shiny object syndrome and start doing things that are not on your list. You have top priorities for a reason. Get them done first, and give your business what it needs to thrive.

3. Publish 1 Piece Of Content

At bare minimum you should publish 1 piece of content everyday. Content is just something – anything that your audience sees that  reminds them that you and your crochet exist. That includes social media posts, newsletters, YouTube videos, TikToks, Pinterest pins, blogs, podcasts, reels the list goes on.

The absolute minimum you should do is publish 1 thing everyday. Absolutely do more if you have time, the more the better. But after that first piece of content goes out, the rest can wait until your other essential tasks are done. Don’t miss out getting your daily must do’s done because you’re trying to post to as many social media platforms as possible and get out a blog, 2 videos and a live Q&A. All that is not essential. Beyond that first piece of content, everything else can wait until your other essential tasks are done.

Thankfully though, you can schedule and automate your posts on social media. You can use Meta Business Suite which is Facebook and Instagram’s free tool that allows you to schedule posts, videos and reels up to 6 weeks in advance. It’s a bit time consuming and isn’t the most intuitive of tools but it doesn’t cost you anything.

I prefer to use the paid service MeetEdgar for scheduling my social media for 2 reasons.

  1. I can schedule far more than 6 weeks in advance
  2. I can bulk upload content and automate the publishing process

This saves me so much time and effort with my social media and I don’t have to worry about scheduling individual posts in. I just need to update the content once a month then log in and answer comments each day. Yes you have to pay for these services, but it is a small price to pay to take away the stress of thinking of what to post on my socials each and everyday. Check out MeetEdgar for yourself here

4. Check Your Daily Sales Numbers

You should track your business daily. Know how many sales you made and how much profit that brought in. Knowing this helps you to know what is working, what is not, and show you when you’re not earning as much as you needed to that week and tweak your plan.

No sales = no payday, so being able to see when profits are dropping means that you can can do something about it straight away instead of getting s shock at the end of the month when your bank account is empty.

Need some trackers to help you keep tabs on your numbers? I have just what you need – A set of 5 printable trackers so you can keep daily tabs on your crochet business health and keep those profits flowing in.

5. Crochet

Obviously you need some crochet time! You have a crochet business and that business only works if there is crochet involved. Sometimes you can feel like this whole business thing is just admin and content creation and editing photos and videos. Some days you can feel like there is no time to pick up your hook. So make time. Even if it’s just an hour, make your crochet time an essential so you can keep making progress and don’t miss out on your hooking fix because of all the admin stuff. You’d be surprised at how quickly all the backroom stuff eats away at your time.

There you go, my list of 5 things you need to do in your crochet business everyday to see the results and profits that you want and deserve.
