A website is the more expensive option and you may be looking at over a year before your website begins to pay it’s way using blog posts alone.
A blog takes time and effort to grow to the point that it will earn it’s cost back, so it should be part of a long term plan and not a short term strategy.
There are many blog and website hosts available to choose from. My suggestion is to do your research and check out their reviews and how they work to decide which is the best option for you.

Your blog can have several purposes, but you should pick one main one. Then you start writing content with this aim in mind. You tailor your articles to lead your readers to that primary goal.

If you want people to subscribe to your newsletter list you keep mentioning the advantages to subscribing and drop the link where you can. If you want more sales then write articles that allow you to link to your products.

There is a formula to writing a blog post that catches someone’s interest so they want to read it, that keeps the reader interested so that they see what you are wanting them to do and then go ahead and take action.
Every blog post has a title which needs to grab peoples attention. Then there is the post itself which needs an intro, the main body of the post and a quick round up at the end. Within all this you need to add keywords which will get you found in search results, but also sounds natural to the reader.
