The Secret To Making An Income From Your Crochet

The Secret To Making An Income From Your Crochet

Do you dream of having your own crochet business and making an income from your crochet? To be able to crochet all day and having the time to spend with your family and having all the time you need to keep your house neat and tidy and take those trips to the farmer markets and yarn stores when you want?

Doesn’t it sound wonderful being able to quit the rat race, not having to deal with the commute anymore, being able to spend the holidays with your family without worrying if you’re using up too much of your annual leave. Instead you get to make an income from your crochet and set your own hours and be in control of your own life.

But do you know how you do this? Do you know how you can make enough money from your crochet to make this dream a reality?  How are you going to go about making crochet your full time job? Is it even possible?

You can make this a reality. It is perfectly possible to make crochet your full time job. And when I say full time, I don’t mean nine to five, five days a week, 50 weeks a year. I mean, earning a full time income however many hours that you would prefer to work. If you want to only work 10 to 15 hours a week, that is possible. It takes work. It takes a good strategy. It takes organisation, but it is possible and you can do it if you are determined

There is a secret to turning your crochet into a career, and every successful crochet business uses it to be able to live off their crochet. In fact , it’s the only way that you can make your crochet into a liveable income.

The Secret To Making Crochet Your Income

The secret to making money from your crochet is by acknowledging that you cannot make the income you need by just selling what you make. That you need something else as an income stream as well.

Why can’t you just sell what you make? Because you are not making any money unless you’re crocheting. If you take a day off, there’s no money coming in. You want to take a holiday with the family? Great, but there will be a huge queue of orders waiting for you when you get back and you either have to work super long days to clear the queue while still taking on new orders, or stop taking orders while you clear the backlog. Not a very appealing prospect right? You end up back in that rat race you wanted to escape from in the first place and not being able to spend the time with your family that you dreamed of.

There is another way. Of course you can still sell what you make as part of a bigger strategy but the secret to making crochet your only income is to have a recurring source of income. Recurring income is any product where you do the work once, and then sell that product over and over again. These are usually online products and they will give you the power to make money while you sleep, grow your income without growing your workload, and they let you cut your working week down to just a few hours.

What Is Recurring Income?

Recurring income is where you make money from something that you create once, then profit from it over and over again. When it comes to crochet we’re talking patterns, blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels, merchandising, courses. Anything where you can do the work once and sell or make money with that product over and over again. It’s recurring income also known as semi-passive income, and that it is the secret to making a full time income from your crochet.

There are so so many ways that this is possible.

  • Blogging
  • Sponsorship
  • Ad revenue
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Designing Patterns
  • YouTube
  • Podcasting
  • Merchandise
  • Tech Editing
  • Courses

You can build your business your way to suit your income goals and your lifestyle

Build Your Crochet Business To Fit You

There are many crochet business out there doing this right now and doing brilliantly. It may be very tempting to go and find these businesses and simply copying their approach, after all if it works for them, it will work for you right?

Not necessarily. Their strategy may work for them, but it doesn’t mean it will work for you.

Lets take YouTube as an example. You can make a fair bit of cash from creating a successful YouTube channel. However if you don’t enjoy making videos and being on camera, you will avoid doing it. If you avoid doing it, you won’t be posting any videos. If you don’t post any videos you won’t be making any money.

If something becomes a chore, it won’t work. So you need to choose the combination of income streams that work for you. That you enjoy. That fits in with your lifestyle. You can make any of these income ideas work, but only if you want to put the time and effort into learning and using them to their maximum potential.

It takes trial and error to learn what you enjoy doing. You have to try new things to see if you enjoy doing them, if they suit your lifestyle. All these options and new things can be very overwhelming when you first start looking into them.

But where do you start?

Think about what you enjoy doing now, and what you don’t. If you love talking about your crochet, but hate making videos then you should give podcasting a try. If you like writing, but you don’t feel yourself to be a story writer then I would suggest pattern writing. If you love getting into the details and have a gift for maths then tech editing may be for you

There are so many ways that you can use your crochet to provide yourself and your family with an income that you can comfortably live on. It’s a case of being open minded and being willing to try new things, knowing that this is putting you on the path to a better future

How Do You Start Making Recurring Revenue?

Knowing what you want to try and making that idea generate an income are two different things. I want to help you discover what works for you. I want to support and reassure you that not only will your business ideas work for you but will provide you the income you not only need to live on, but will let you live comfortably and live the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of. That is why I’ve created The Hookers Academy.

The Hookers Academy is my membership where I show you all these different options, how you can get started with them and figure out which options are right for you, how you can monetise them, and the pros and cons of each option.

Now nobody can tell you how to build your business. Because if anyone says they can do that, then what they’re really doing is showing you how they run their business and that may not be the right way for you. What I can do is show you your options.

Show you how you can make money with your crochet from all these different ideas  and help you to choose the combination that will fit in with your lifestyle and that you enjoy so that you can make crochet your full time income.

A big part of The Hookers Academy is the Community Hub. Being in a community of other crocheters who are also on the same journey is amazing. It can give you that reassurance, support and confidence that you are on the right track. Doing this business thing alone can be lonely. You fellow hookers can have your back and pick you up when you’re down and act as a sounding board if you just need a bit of reassurance or you just want a bit of advice.

It is most definitely possible to make crochet your full time income, but you do need to go online and you do need to have a recurring income from at least 1 source and it needs to be something that you enjoy.

So go for it, and make those dreams of escaping the 9-5 and having the freedom to spend the time with your family a much deserved reality
